View From the Window at Le Gras is a black and white, grainy looking, and incredibly blurry and smeared photo taken in the 1820's. The image just landscapes the area in which one would see if they were atop that building and looking out. The sole reason why it doesn't appear to be in HD is because it is the first know photo to be taken. When I first saw this picture, my mind just travels through the evolution of images and technology and it's amazing to see where it all started. The photographer definitely had to be very patient due to the incredibly long exposure time and Joseph Niepce just wanted to see if he can produce a still image, so camera obscura was born. Due to it being the first and Joseph didn't have too much significant intentions, it turned out really well and those that view it are just awe at how impressive it was for it's time and oh much capture quality has changed.

Hero
So much animosity has been happening and a song that I listen to that closely defines how I am seeing the world right now is Hero by Skillet. Skillet is a religious group and most, if not all of their music has definitive ties with religion, however, with this song, since I am not religious, I see it more of the negativity that has been happening. In the song, they stated, according to genius, "someone save me from this hate, it's just another war, just another family torn, (i'm falling from my faith today) just a step from the edge, just another day in the world we live". When I hear that particular line, I always think how terrible stuff has and is continuing to happen, yet they state it like its not a big deal, not because it isn't, but because it happens so much that its redundancy is getting ridiculous. They also state that it is just another war, which to me doesn't necessarily mean on a global scale, but the little incidents that happen between two or more individuals. With all these shootings happening, family's are indeed being torn and the song continues in wishing someone would speak up and be the "hero". This song speaks volume to me because it addresses conflicts between humans and how it can be stopped if we just have heroes. I think when he address the hero, he doesn't mean one or two heroes to stop the incidents, but how anyone and everyone can unleash their hero side,in other words, change for the better and be more compassionate towards everyone so these shootings and tragedies don't have to occur.

Charles Sorley
Charles Hamilton Sorely was born in Scotland and studied in Oxford and Germany. When the war occured he was in Germany, however he made his way to England to join the army and fought in France. He had a short life, but a great collection of poems and one of them is "To Germany". Charles seems to be addressing the lack of drive and finality of the war because it seems they are fighting without reason. He states immediately off the back that Germany is blind like them, being France. The next few lines shows that they're just fighting to fight and they shouldn't be in this gruesome war and how its pointless. All of it is a bunch of hate and setting up lines of trenches to eventually run in the battlefield blind and take fire in attempt to take over more trenches. His next stanza begins to tell the tale of a happy ending and how everything would be more in harmony once the war ends. Those will be sad and grief together, once the peace arises. In conclusion, I ended up liking the poem after a couple of reads because of how Charles depicts the concept of war and the aftermath of it in his eyes. When reading this, his word choices definitely made me feel more attached to reality.

Anti-War Painting
Picasso's work named, Guernica (1937), appears to be one of the most interesting work that I have ever seen. At first glance, I notice all of the images of people or these creatures are in a state of agony and they're positioned in such uncomfortable way that it makes me feel uneasy. All the people or creatures seem distraught or dying, one person even looks dead. In the middle of the work, it is very clustered and a lot is happening, from the people on the right stretching their necks to draw a little more focus towards the action, which seems like murder scene of some sort, with what seems to be a knife on the bottom and a human of some sort that looks dead. It definitely looks like a landscape, but a version with so much more than your typical over the distance sunset and grassy scene. The image has very strong and harsh lines running through image and in the middle there's almost like a diamond like shape surrounding the chaotic center. The harsh line and intense clutter with obscured depiction defines the abstract and unrealism of it. The image was painted in hopes to prevent World War II from happening, showing some death and almost like a battlefied-like scenery. In conclusion, I really enojy this painting due to its complexity and intricacies and I would feel very discouraged to go into a war after seeing this image.

Cafe Terrace at Night
Exectued in early September of 1888, also known as The Cafe Terrace on the Place du Forum provides such a vibrant and alive feeling. The subject is evident in which he uses to light and lines to convey it. A well lit community placed directly under patio that seems happy and conversating and filled with life and normality. The sky is animated and most of the windows are fully lit. However, once you begin to follow the oil painting towards the back, a dark evil shadow like creature is presented almost resembling that of a grim reaper. This could be interpreted as a sense of the three part life with heaven, being the sky, purgatory, being the well lit enviornment, and hell, being conveyed by the entity. The painting seems to be dominant with the heaven and purgatory side of things in hopes to portray the good side and the influence of it, although he does include the evil side creeping to portray its linger and presense, this painting definitely shows, regardless of the incident with his father, his positive and good beliefs were still evident. With the painting, due to the overwhelming colors and brightness, I feel alive and happy. With his focus on the happy and nature side of things, in contrast to the miniscule aspect of the darks side, it makes me feel hopeful and that good will always prevail.

My Cultural Feast
Greetings, my cultural diet consist of most things technology base and derive from the love that I developed as a young lad. Whether it may be as passive as laying back and watching my favorite TV show, also widely considered as one of the best (How I Met Your Mother), or something more dynamic as crafting and maintaining a personal computer. I tend to do my best to get gritty and find my ways to all the secrets of all technology devices by constantly eating it up. In one of those devices (my phone) contains a neat little music play list constructed of the most awesome and blood gushing music that I have found in the last couple decades. Ranging anywhere from country to EDM, this era of rap to rock, some good old rock, and I'll even toss in some classical music. Of course, who could forget about the notorious social media apps. I spend most of my time browsing the lovely Twitter, and to be honest, its just to keep myself updated on sports that's happening or has happened recently, especially the news that pertain to the Patriots. In conclusion, from time to time, I'll gladly indulge in some canvas and browse the plethora of art displayed in a museum, and when I finish, I'll consume some food that can potentially derive from any country. I do tend to stick more closely to countries located in Asia, but I'll always be open to, see, eat, explore, and hear things from other countries as well.
